Five Elements Acupressure Program
The combination of at-home study, live classes and the externship hours required for the program, along with the expert support provided along the way, make the CAC the top choice for acupressure education and this life-changing journey. My goals—to become skilled, experienced, knowledgeable, and confident in Five Elements Acupressure for the purpose of professional practice —were reached by taking this course.
My experience with the Canadian Acupressure College has been amazing. The Five Elements Acupressure Program setup really fit well into my life. The knowledge that I learned was profound. Kathy has a wealth of information that helped guide me in my process and was always willing to answer any questions. I would recommend this program to anyone interested in learning acupressure. A wonderful experience in all aspects. Thank you.
The 5-Element Acupressure Diploma program at CAC was exactly what I was looking for in order to get back into the healing arts to upgrade my skills and learn more advanced material from previous training I had at a different institution. Not only was it the perfect package for me (because I live so far north and the distance part of the course was a huge seller and being a mom of 2 young kids) but the program and Kathy as an instructor and the material covered and how it was covered and the assignments were way more than I could have asked for. My favorite part other than Kathy and her beautiful, supportive, encouraging way of teaching and consulting was how confident I was after the program to go out into the world as a healer with a gift worthy enough of using as a profession and I had all the tools to make that happen and know that I could be successful. It truly is a full and wonderful packaged program for anyone interested in holistic healing, helping others and with a passion for Chinese Medicine. Thank you from the depths of my being Kathy for you and the FEAP diploma program. I am exactly where I am meant to be.
The 5-element program at Canadian Acupressure College has re-energized my career and my feeling of success. When I started the program I was taking the course because I needed credit for my association. I have done many different classes related to my career as a massage therapist, but this class helped me reboot my career. I feel the 5-elements and I have gone through a full year of transformation. I see that transformation happening in my clients as well. My advertising and my specials in my clinic now reflect the present elements in season.
My clients ask many questions on how and why they feel a certain way in the season. It’s very interesting to look at my clients in a different way, by using the Worsley chart and informing my client on specific points that might help them. It’s like dialing the phone on a client’s body to get the right number. The two case studies I performed were very interesting. Although my clients feel safe with me they also demonstrated shyness with me. (Boundaries) After performing these sessions I found my clients more open to discussing their issues. There is a more open, non-judging relationship between myself and my clients. Prior to taking the course, I would look at the client differently, now I run through the questions and compare them to the 5-element chart, which usually give me a very good program plan.”
It is about thirteen months ago, when I felt the urge or calling to make some changes in my life. While working in a successful career, in a senior Management position with a established company in Victoria, I wanted to broaden my horizons and consider something that would awaken a different part of me and my soul. Believing that the universe always provides one with what they need at the time they need it, I came upon the college’s website on a Wednesday and discovered the 5 Elements Acupressure Diploma Program, spoke to you on the phone for more information, and registered for the diploma program, and started in class sessions the following Monday!
Attending the college was an incredible experience, from the atmosphere, the students, the material and your teaching style — I thank you so much for sharing your wonderful gift and the college with me. Since obtaining my CFEAP designation, I have opened my practice and see clients regularly and I continue to grow and learn about the art and science of acupressure. I continue to look forward to sharing acupressure with my clients, friends, and family.
The Five Elements Acupressure program offered at the Canadian Acupressure College reached me on so many different levels. First, the program design on week segments enabled me to take the course and maintain my home and life away from Victoria. There was no life/home/work sacrifice to take the program. I benefited physically from the practical course as receiving treatment restored feeling in my left arm. I benefited emotionally from the program as a better way to understand and accept myself and others at a core level. I’m constantly amazed how the skills I learned are applicable in everyday social interaction and thus creating for myself and those around me; healthy, wonderful, caring interactions. All my personal relationships with family and friends have benefited from the skills I learned. As I had developed a great desire in pursuing more education in the Oriental medicine Arts, the knowledge covered in the program put me head and shoulders above other first year students in acupuncture studies. Still today when new material is presented I sometimes say, “I learned this in the Five Elements Program”, and I get to move forward calmly and confidently though my studies; able to grasp and expand my current knowledge.
The clinical experience and skills we practised and learned have also given me a great advantage over my current classmates. From the little things to communication styles, and safe practice, clinical notes; my patients always feel understood and cared for and that my business is in order. The Five Elements Acupressure Program has opened a great many doors to me. I had the opportunity to have my own clinic set up within one month of graduating; I was confident and successful. The program enriched my knowledge, understanding and experience not just of the healing arts but also of people and how to bridge the gap in our differences. I wouldn’t be studying acupuncture and medical qi gong today had I not studied Five Elements Acupressure. Thank you.
I recently graduated from the Five Element Acupressure Program. I have years of experience in the wide world of academia and yet I have never experienced such growth of self as when I was taking this program. I have a high level of confidence and compassion now for the world around me and for my own self, as I developed the skills to take charge of my life, to start and manage a business, to listen and communicate with people in the real world as well as to incorporate the beautiful ancient knowledge of healing that graces us from the East into my life anf the life of others. I really feel like I have grown and matured beyond the scope of that which traditional university could ever have guided and encouraged me. Now I have real clients who have experienced real changes in their lives and who are taking control of their lives in positive and healthy ways! The College teaches with a direct hands-on approach, paired with practical knowledge about the business world and the science of the human body and mind as well as the holistic and spiritual philosophy of ancient Eastern medicine. I will forevor be a confident practitioner in my field and a positive healthy human being thanks to this program!
I fell in love with Five Elements of Acupressure my first day of class at the Canadian Acupressure College and signed up for the diploma program. The program was so well organized with both distance and hands-on learning as well as small class size that ensured individual support to each student. I really appreciated the professionalism being taught at CAC. The training I received was excellent and I feel competent now in my first year as a professional as I build my clientele.
I’m really amazed how the Five Elements theory has as much impact as an acupressure session for some people. 1/4 of the people in the work place have never had bodywork. With the Relaxfast! Chair Massage they receive an acupressure massage which is easy to accept for some — but what they don’t expect is to have it related to their body in an elemental way, so there are lots of “firsts” leaving a big impression — therefore changing a small or big part of their momentum in Life.
The Relaxfast!™ Chair Massage Program
The Relaxfast!™ Chair Massage program gave me the boost of confidence in my business skills that was needed to progress to a professional level. It provided the support and knowledge I was missing to build a solid foundation and grow in my profession. Kathy’s knowledge was such an asset for teaching about all the details that made setting up, a clear and simple step by step process. The chair massage blend that is taught is very well received in the community whether it be at businesses or markets, the 15 minute sequence leaves all feeling better than before and very content. I am happy and so are my clients!
I had the privilege of taking the Relaxfast! Chair Massage course at the Canadian Accupressure College and received my Diploma on June 20, 2009. I very much enjoyed the classes, presented with professionalism and at the same time a warm and caring atmosphere. The course presentation was interesting and thorough. After the classroom sessions, we had the opportunity of learning and completing assignments from home, as well as completing the externship. Kathy is consistently supportive and always ready with helpful information. This course has enriched my life. The CAC training has given me the confidence of being a professional in this field. Thank you for being there!
I graduated from the Canadian College of Acupressure in 2010 with both Five Elements Acupressure and The Relaxfast!™ Chair Massage diplomas. The college, through excellent tutorage and course programs — has provided me with the ability to define a new career path in Acupressure. Since graduating I have built a strong Acupressure business in Salmon Arm BC, and I am very confident for its future success. Kathy DeBucy’s continued support and leadership has been invaluable to me in my business development and a major reason for my longterm commitment to the holistic health industry. I continue to recommend the College to anyone interested in pursuing this excellent career path.
I want to take this opportunity to tell you how much I enjoyed the RelaxFast Chair Massage and the Five Elements Acupressure courses at the Canadian Acupressure College. Taking these classes has opened many doors for me and allowed me to take the steps to own my own business and the opportunity to achieve the life I want. It has also instilled in me an ongoing desire and curiosity to continue learning and growing my skills, taking whichever path that might lead me. Thank you so much Kathy!
General
I am combining acupressure, yoga and holistic nutrition to create my practice and a platform for other practitioners. I am doing it all virtually! So, at times teaching others how to use acupressure on themselves. What I love the most is what I learned about seasons in relation to organs and emotions and the diagnostic tools including my own intuition that were taught which I use in my own life and to help others.
I wanted to say that the training/schooling I received is second to none. Compared to other trainers, you were and are so professional, proficient, knowledgable and patient. The way that the course is laid out and it’s handouts are very professionally done in all aspects. Thank you!
The instruction from Kathy was inspirational. She was the fire that fuelled us to continue learning with curiosity and to pursue life with passion. I felt the entire time, I was set up to succeed due to Kathy’s patience and understanding. I learned the most during our calls together as she selflessly shared her knowledge and many years of experience. I am still amazed how I went from not knowing much about acupressure to now immersing myself in a completely different field, working with clients! I am so grateful for the CAC, Kathy and my colleagues for an amazing, positive and life changing experience. If you feel a calling to this work, I highly recommend studying through the CAC.
My experience with the Canadian Acupressure College has been a blessing. I have gained a deeper understanding of TCM and improved my skills as a natural health practitioner. I am thankful for Kathy de Bucy’s rich background in acupressure and for her comments and suggestions.
My experience with Canadian Acupressure College was positive right from the start. Kathy was very helpful with information and support even before the classroom time started. The classroom is a small setting, which is great for all the one on one time the instructor can provide, and class discussions. It is hands on from day one and the information that is taught is life changing. I am proud to be a graduate of Canadian Acupressure College, and I am also proud to bring those qualities I was taught, like compassion, professionalism, and understanding into my own practice. It was a great experience, one that has changed my life … in a positive way.
In my dealings with the College, I have been tremendously impressed with the level of professionalism consistently demonstrated in classes, in business meetings and in routine program enquiry. The instructor(s) have a deep knowledge and passion for the subject matter, which is reflected in the high quality of courses delivered. I’ve noticed in my program that the College is always looking for opportunities for continuous improvement and evolves and updates courses to ensure the most up to date information and teaching materials are being introduced to students. The overall program and the courses within are extremely well laid out. I know I am receiving the best possible experience with the Canadian Acupressure College and would highly recommend it to others interested in pursuing this field of study.
I am using my excellent acupressure training in some very unusual ways. Last week I was called in to assist as a “doggie doula” with a registered dog that was high-risk, giving birth to a very large litter! I used points for calming the dog initially, and then later the points for aiding delivery. As you know, I am interested in expanding my practice to include veterinary acupressure as well as working on people. I also regularly end up working with people to lessen their symptoms of colds and flu, and all the common diseases that are making the rounds. I think that all the practice sessions we did in class, as well as the externship, help me now to be more able to quickly assess what is needed and jump right in. I guess I just wanted to say “thank you” for all the good things we learnt from you!
The Canadian Acupressure College is a wonderful balance of hands on training and textbook knowledge. Kathy de Bucy really provides an open discussion environment where you can, together, make sure that you are being accurate with your points and confidant in your touch. Providing herself as a continuous resource during the externship you can’t help but feel as though you are fully supported in your decisions as well as your future endeavors. The results; one more alternative healer helping to change the world one imbalance at a time. Thank you C.A.C for all the information and training you provide to your many avid students. Under your instruction I will feel confident in being a successful and accurate practitioner.
Kathy de Bucy is an excellent teacher who is passionate about teaching acupressure and the five elements. She provides both the theory and the hands-on experiential learning needed to become proficient in these modalities. Thank-you Kathy for providing one of the most rewarding educational experiences I have participated in during my career.
What an amazing journey this has been! I did not know that when I signed up for acupressure in 2006 that it would open me up to my hidden passion. My passion was further awakened when I needed to complete the externship program. I was now to assist clients from various walks who were not family relatives. There were lots of fears and concerns about if I had enough knowledge to do this work. The pulse of each client has its own signature language that spoke of the person’s needs and I felt connected with this tool. I saw the power of the meridians at work with patients and they felt it as well. Kathy had invited me to assist in one of the acupressure classes in April 2010. I was very nervous but to my surprise, I realised then, how much I had grown in 2 years. I have now signed up to further continue my education towards my Acupuncture and Phytotherapy licence.
I found that the qualities of the program presented on the website not only matched but surpassed my expectations in the quality of instruction of the course content combined with hands-on practice in the classes. I feel that the Diploma group I was a part of found a good balance of learning from one another and individually, allowing us all a rich learning environment and experience. The distance courses on Ethics, Communication, Anatomy, and Business serve the in-class sessions well because their content blends with the lectures, discussion, and hands-on learning. My experience as a diploma student with the CAC was further enhanced by the opportunity to volunteer as an assistant in the courses, during the lectures and hands-on practice. This opportunity is a vital part of the College’s dynamic relationship of support and growth for its students and graduates.
